Software Engineers for Green Deal program offered by LUT University 's graduates will have an impact on individuals, societies, industries and governments through new, responsible ways of developing systems.
The programme focuses on sustainable development through the use of software solutions. It emphasises human aspects in sustainability, develops the education aspects of sustainability with a social perspective, and educates ICT professionals with advanced sustainability knowledge, skills and competences.
The programme also emphasises the employability of the students by developing their career skills throughout the programme. Thus, the programme aims for learning outcomes in both hard and soft skills.

The programme aims to educate a new generation of software engineers who will emphasise the sustainability of software as well as the sustainability effects of software on society.
After the completion of the Master's programme, you will have acquired:
- knowledge and understanding of sustainable development challenges and environmental limitations (i.e. a sustainable mindset) in relation to the engineering and digitalisation of services;
- skills in identifying both technical and social needs in relation to sustainable development challenges, and in the design and execution of the right, impactful decisions on software development;
- competence in designing, evaluating, and adapting software, software development processes and software development tools to tackle the identified sustainable development challenges;
- a professional network around the world, providing you links to local and global sustainability challenges and societies trying to solve them.

- Your previous higher education institution needs to be officially recognized.
- Your previous degree needs to meet our requirements.
- If an English language test result is required from you, your test scores will need to fulfill our minimum requirements and you will need to submit the test result as instructed before the given deadline.
- You will need to submit your online application and all compulsory application documents as instructed before the application deadline.
- The scope of a relevant degree awarded by a higher education institution must be equivalent to 180 ECTS credits (or equivalent) or at least three years of full-time study. The degree must give eligibility for Master-level studies in the awarding country.
