The Electronic Engineering research from University of Portsmouth brings together researchers with expertise in electrical power systems, renewable energy, control systems, robotics, intelligent systems and signal processing. When you join us as a postgraduate research degree student, you'll play your part in helping us find new ways of improving the efficiency, sustainability, security and reliability of our power grid.

Our work is already making an impact – from improving the safety of nuclear power plants in India, to pioneering the adoption of clean solar energy in the 2 seas region of northern Europe, to developing an energy autonomous community on the Isle of Wight.
