The MA Program in Maritime Civilizations at University of Haifa is the first of its kind to integrate the full scope of research domains on land, at sea, and in the lab under one roof, SAMC offers a prestigious international professional network and a fascinating learning environment.

- Trains the next generation of maritime-oriented researchers, environmental activists, policy makers, consultants, and educators.
- Combines advanced knowledge with ongoing active research and exploration of harbors, ships, seafaring in labs on campus and at sea, to understand human-sea interactions and address maritime heritage challenges.
- Multidisciplinary curriculum includes coastal and underwater archaeology, ancient ship construction, marine biology and ecology, maritime history, maritime geoarchaeology, and archaeozoology.
- Develops in-depth knowledge and practical research with special attention to the effects of human interaction with the Mediterranean Sea on shore and underwater.
- Qualifies and certifies excavating coastal and underwater archaeologists.
- Conducts ongoing, active research on shore, underwater and in state-of-the-art laboratories both on campus and in the Leon Recanati Institute for Maritime Studies.

- BA degree in the Humanities or Social Sciences with a minimum of 3.0 GPA, 80% (B) (Israeli system), or equivalent in all undergraduate courses.
- Good command of the English language.
- Copy of undergraduate diploma and official transcript of BA degree showing full list of courses, date of graduation, and conferred degree.
- Two recommendations letters
- TOEFL – score 89 or alternative acceptable English language examination score
- Personal Statement (500 words)
- Curriculum Vitae/Resumé
- Medical forms (international students only)
- Copy of valid passport
