  • Research Methods and Skills in Sport Coaching 

The module will examine different research traditions and provide students with an opportunity to critique existing empirical material.

  • Advanced Coaching Theory 

In this module students will examine the principles of the reflective practice in coaching and how reflection can take on different forms. 

  • Integrated Coaching 

This module introduces students to the concept of player and participant development from a multi-disciplinary standpoint (a bio-psycho-social approach).

General requirements

  • All students will be required to be qualified coaches with an award recognised by their national governing body, normally at Level 2 of the UKCC or its equivalent. 
  • Attainment of a good Honours degree (normally a First or Upper Second Class Honours degree) awarded by an approved University in an appropriate subject, or the equivalent thereof 
  • Attainment of an alternative qualification or qualifications and/or evidence of experience judged by the School as indicating a student’s potential for study and as satisfactory for the purpose of entry to a taught degree programme.
