Overview
It aims at disseminating Democracy in every educational level and all educational processes by training educators from various backgrounds and scientific fields in Competences for Democratic Culture.The MA Program offers both an English-speaking and a Greek-speaking Curriculum for students to choose along with 3 specializations.
This Identity, Education and Competences for Democratic Culture program is a partnership between three Departments of the National and Kapodistian University of Athens and the European Wergeland Centre (Council of Europe and Norwegian Government), implemented fully online with a distinct English and Greek Curriculum.
The National and Kapodistrian University is the longest standing University in Greece since its establishment in 1837. The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) offers high-quality programmes ranking high in the global and European rankings: in 2024 it held the 89th position globally and the 16th position among the European Universities.

- One-year studies (2 semesters with courses + the summer for the master thesis)

- Certification of professional or research experience (if any)
- Greek language Certification or adequate, verified by the Selection of Admissions Committee, knowledge of the Greek language, for foreign candidates wishing to participate in the Greek speaking M.A. Programme.
- A certificate confirming equivalence to Greek Titles for those who have degrees from foreign universities. For graduates of foreign Institutions that do not submit a certificate confirming equivalence to Greek Titles by the National Academic Recognition Information Center (NARIC/D.O.A.T.A.P) a special Committee is formed.
