Increasing seniority of the roles they fulfil in organizations necessitates skills that are classically regarded as more management skills then technical skills.
Engineering managers are responsible for hiring staff, supervising employees, setting budgets and goals for projects, leading research and development projects.

General requirements
- The minimum admission requirements are: An NQF level 8, Bachelor Honours degree, 4-year Bachelor’s degree or a Postgraduate Diploma qualification in engineering or cognates sciences, such as engineering design and synthesis or applied sciences. Students should obtain an average pass mark of at least 60% of the NQF level 8 qualification.
- If the applicant has an international qualification, that qualification must be evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority Unit for Evaluation of Foreign Qualifications before submission of the application.
