- The purpose of the Youth Work and Social Education (ETS Endorsed) (PG Cert, PG Dip, MA) programmes is to equip students with the skills, knowledge and understanding to become effective, professionally qualified Youth Workers. The programmes are professionally endorsed by ETS Wales, offering a professional qualification in Youth Work.
- The vision of the programmes is the creation of effective, reflective practitioners and leaders, and the programmes challenge students to become increasingly independent to identify their own learning and development needs.
- Through a social science lens, the programmes explore current and contemporary challenges that are faced by young people, including: Trauma, Adverse Childhood Experiences, Substance misuse, County Lines, Children’s Rights, Health and Well-being, The impact of relationships.
- The programmes triangulate theory, policy and practice in an applied manner to enable graduates to be excellent academics, practitioners and leaders.

General requirements
- All applicants will be required to provide a satisfactory enhanced disclosure Child and Adult Workforce document from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
- Applicants will normally be required to hold an Honours degree.
- Applicants with vocational qualifications and experiences will also be considered.
- Due to the professional endorsement of the degree programme, all applicants need to have at least 200 hours of recent and relevant Youth Work experience.
