The "Educational Mathematics" 2nd-cycle study programme leads to "magisterij" (master's degree). It is implemented by the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. The programme is intended for students that already possess solid knowledge of the basics of undergraduate mathematics and are now ready to acquire the pedagogical competencies for teaching practice. 


The programme provides pedagogical, didactic and mathematical contents, which are closely related to teaching mathematics in primary and secondary schools (with an emphasis on professional and vocational-technical programmes). Graduates are intended to employ in educational institutions as mathematics teachers or may continue doctoral studies in mathematical or educational fields.

    Based on the original amount of 2900 EUR per year and a duration of 24 months.

Tuition also applies to all Slovene/EU students who have already obtained an education corresponding to master’s degree. 

Living costs for Maribor

  • 480 - 700 EUR/month
    Living Costs

The living costs include the total expenses per month, covering accommodation, public transportation, utilities (electricity, internet), books and groceries.


Full-time students from Slovenia and other EU countries, and full-time students from non-EU countries who are granted international protection, applicants for international protection and persons from countries with which Slovenia has concluded bilateral agreement (i.e. Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo, B&H, and Serbia) pay NO TUITION FEE (except the part for studying in English, if applicable) if they have not already obtained an education corresponding to master's degree.
