The 2nd-cycle study programme in Pedagogy leads to "magisterij" (master's degree). It is implemented by the Faculty of Arts and its main educational and professional goal is to educate students in a wide range of understandings, knowledge, and skills in the areas of different social sciences and to prepare candidates for a full and independent professional work in the field of pedagogy.


The main specific competences achieved by the graduates are:

  • expertise, analysis, and evaluation of basic and applied pedagogy knowledge and knowledge of other related scientific disciplines;
  • ability to analyze complex pedagogical problems on professional autonomous way;
  • ability to use research methods, approaches, and techniques in the field of pedagogy with critical evaluation;
  • ability to plan, organize, and conduct scientific qualitative and quantitative pedagogical research;
  • understandings of developmental, individual, social, and cultural characteristics in pedagogical work; and
  • ability for pedagogical counseling of individuals, groups, and institutions in different social contexts.

    Based on the original amount of 2980 EUR per year and a duration of 24 months.

    Based on the original amount of 0 EUR per year and a duration of 24 months.

Tuition also applies to all Slovene/EU students who have already obtained an education corresponding to master’s degree.


Full-time students from Slovenia and other EU countries, and full-time students from non-EU countries who are granted international protection, applicants for international protection and persons from countries with which Slovenia has concluded bilateral agreement (i.e. North Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo, B&H, and Serbia) pay NO TUITION FEE (except the part for studying in English, if applicable) if they have not already obtained an education corresponding to master's degree.
