Students among other things adopt structured reflection through practical experience and interpersonal interactions. The programme derives from the understanding of professional competence as an ability of intelligent management in new and unique situations. Young teachers entering the profession in addition to the theoretical knowledge in their respective field also need a pedagogical way of thinking and to integrate theory with practice. The programme thus takes into account the changing role of the teacher in the modern school which is not limited solely to the interpretation or application of contents or some particular method, but rather includes an analysis of the educational needs, the development and production of teaching materials, the study of and reflection on one’s own classroom, and the coordination of the content and methodology in teaching students.
