Overview

The basis of the practice-oriented Master's program  Strategic Sports Management at  International School of Management (ISM) is a sound theoretical management basis and its practical application to the sports industry. The focus is on the global future topics in sports as strategic and practical subject areas. These include foremost leadership, digitalization, sustainability, integrative management, health and tourism, as well as consulting.

By acquiring management-specific knowledge as well as future- and practice-oriented skills, you are best prepared for the current and future trends and challenges in the sports business. This lays the foundation for a successful career in sports organizations (professional sports, sport federations, sports clubs), sporting goods and sports equipment manufacturers, marketing and communications agencies, management consultancies, health insurance companies and hospitals, public sports administrations, sports facility operators, (sports) event agencies, (sports) travel providers and (sports) destinations, as well as sports media.

Gather Strategic International Experiences in Sports Management

Integrated in the Sports Management Master is a semester abroad at one of our 190 partner universities with elective courses depending on your individual study focus. You can either opt for supplementary content from Sports Management (specific) or for a specialization in Marketing and Management (general).

During your semester abroad :

• you will deepen your sports management knowledge in an international context,
• perfect your foreign language skills,
• get to know intercultural peculiarities, and

• have the opportunity to complete a second international degree (Double Degree) at a partner university.

How Can I Apply?

In order to study at the International School of Management (ISM), the university conducts an online admission test.  This tests consists of preparing a brief Powerpoint presentation and an online interview with program director. This is to assess your motivation, your abilities as well as learn about your personality.

The Master programs are not restricted by a “Numerus Clausus” (NC, average grade).

What documents need to be submitted?

In order to verify your eligibility to study master in Germany, please first send the following documents to an ISM study advisor of your desired campus for a fast-check:

• Curriculum vitae (CV)

• Your bachelor's degree (if already available) and transcript of records, comprising at least 180 ECTS points, or an equivalent course of study at an university, university of applied sciences or a foreign university of equivalent level.

• English language certificate (if available), for eg. TOEFL, IELTS or other (only needed if the medium of instruction in your high school/university was not English).

Upon examination and successful verification of your documents, you will be asked to register for an online admission test.

Application deadlines

We have no fixed applications deadlines at ISM, but we kindly ask international applicants who require a visa for studying in Germany to submit their application documents by

•  July 15th of the previous year (program starts in fall semester).
