Overview
This Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology from Charles Sturt University degree prepares you for a rewarding career in this growing allied health profession. It is fully accredited by Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) – in fact, this is the first postgraduate online exercise physiology degree to be accredited in Australia, gaining accreditation in 2012.
Accredited exercise physiologists deliver preventative exercise programs and interventions for the management of chronic and complex conditions and injuries – making a difference to individuals and communities. If you’ve not previously studied an ESSA accredited degree.
You'll learn to determine clients' medical and physical activity histories, perform pre-exercise screenings, use motivational interviewing to determine readiness for exercise, and perform health and exercise capacity assessments. You'll also be prepared to design and deliver evidence-based exercise programs, apply psychological strategies to promote lifestyle modification and behaviour change, and provide client education to prevent or manage cardiopulmonary, metabolic, musculoskeletal and neurological conditions, as well as cancer and depression.
