Programme outcomes
Upon completion of the European Legal Studies program from Södertörn University student will have:
Knowledge and understanding
On completion of the course, the student is able to:
- Describe in detail the European legislative procedure for a specific legal act and the implementation of this act in the Swedish legal system
- Describe in detail the on-going Europeanisation process, in particular with regard to the principles of good administration
- In depth report for the principles of Good Administration originated from the European legal order
- Independently explain concepts of Public Law such as institutional and procedural autonomy, substantive and procedural principles
On completion of the course, the student is able to:
- Independently apply legal methods in order to analyse intricate questions related to the europeanisation of Public Law
- On the basis of a European legal act provide a analysis of the relationship between EU law and Swedish law with focus on the principles of Good Administration
- Structure, systematise and report the results of a legal analysis
- On the basis of legal documents write a report which in a structured manner synthetises and analyses information
- Conduct qualified judicial inquiries focusing on the relationship between EU law and national administrative law in a timely manner
- Conduct analytical reasoning on the relationship between Community law and Swedish law in concrete cases, with an emphasis on the principles of good administration
- Orally and in writing in English, academically and in a popular manner, account for complex questions related to the europeanisation of Public Law
- Identify legal fields of relevance for the issue of the principles of good administration where there is a need for further research
