Key Facts and Aims

The curriculum is also focused on Korean History and Korean Culture. In addition, it is playing a role as the birthplace of fostering experts in Korean history and Korean culture, especially in Ulsan history and culture by reinforcing instrumental science to strengthen basic research capabilities.
Fostering experts in Korean history and culture, especially in Ulsan history and culture by cultivating the ability to analyze and understand the history and culture of Korea and Ulsan.
Cultivating of basic research ability : Strengthen the basic competencies of academic research by cultivating the ability to analyze and decipher historical materials related to Chinese character, Japanese and English.
Deepening awareness of the Korean history : Reinforce the ability to consistently grasp and criticize the historical process of momentum and causality of each era that has passed through to the Republic of Korea.
Strengthening the ability to understand culture : Developing an understanding of the aesthetic characteristics and techniques of Korean tangible and intangible cultural heritage, and strengthen the ability to understand it in connection with ideological factors.

Enhancing of regional studies ability : Promote the ability to analyze and synthesize regional-specific materials while paying attention to regional specificity and individuality amid the universality of Korean history.

General requirements

You and both your parents must have foreign citizenship.

Not eligible if you or any of your parents hold Korean dual-citizenship.
Taiwanese applicants are eligible even if one of the parents holds Korean citizenship.
You must hold a foreign citizenship (not Korean dual-citizenship) and must have completed or expect to complete all your primary and secondary education (equivalent to Year 12 qualification in Korea) fully outside of Korea.
Master’s or Combined program applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree or a level of education equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree.
