- The curriculum is also focused on Korean History and Korean Culture. In addition, it is playing a role as the birthplace of fostering experts in Korean history and Korean culture, especially in Ulsan history and culture by reinforcing instrumental science to strengthen basic research capabilities.
- Fostering experts in Korean history and culture, especially in Ulsan history and culture by cultivating the ability to analyze and understand the history and culture of Korea and Ulsan.
- Cultivating of basic research ability : Strengthen the basic competencies of academic research by cultivating the ability to analyze and decipher historical materials related to Chinese character, Japanese and English.
- Deepening awareness of the Korean history : Reinforce the ability to consistently grasp and criticize the historical process of momentum and causality of each era that has passed through to the Republic of Korea.
- Strengthening the ability to understand culture : Developing an understanding of the aesthetic characteristics and techniques of Korean tangible and intangible cultural heritage, and strengthen the ability to understand it in connection with ideological factors.
- Enhancing of regional studies ability : Promote the ability to analyze and synthesize regional-specific materials while paying attention to regional specificity and individuality amid the universality of Korean history.

General requirements
- You and both your parents must have foreign citizenship.
- Not eligible if you or any of your parents hold Korean dual-citizenship.
- Taiwanese applicants are eligible even if one of the parents holds Korean citizenship.
- You must hold a foreign citizenship (not Korean dual-citizenship) and must have completed or expect to complete all your primary and secondary education (equivalent to Year 12 qualification in Korea) fully outside of Korea.
- Master’s or Combined program applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree or a level of education equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree.
