The MSc in Genomic Medicine and Healthcare (Online) from Diploma MSc aims to equip graduates with a critical knowledge and understanding of the genetic and genomic basis of clinical medicine and healthcare for direct clinical benefit and future study.
The educational aims of the course are:
To provide graduates with a systematic understanding and specialist theoretical knowledge of Genomic Medicine in order to provide personalised, precision-based patient management and care in their field of practice.
To enable multidisciplinary groups to work proactively in developing and applying advanced awareness of ethical, societal and professional values and codes of conduct to personal and strategic decisions relating to Genomic Medicine.
To produce graduates with life-long learning and advanced problem-solving skills to suggest and advocate solutions using appropriate methods and techniques to solve complex and unpredictable real world issues in the field of Genomic Medicine.
To produce graduates with the ability to lead strategic management approaches in Genomic Medicine within complex multi-agency, multi-cultural and/or international contexts.
To enable graduates to critically evaluate the evidence base and systematically synthesise cutting edge research in the field of Genomic Medicine and directly apply this to unpredictably complex issues and/or opportunities in their field of clinical practice.

- Since our Genomic Medicine MSc distance learning course is conducted entirely online, it is accessible to both UK and international registered healthcare professionals.
- Applicants will typically hold a first degree or equivalent (including international qualifications) in a relevant professional field.
- Registered healthcare professionals or individuals working in the healthcare/science field without these recognised qualifications will be considered for our MSc in Genomic Medicine on an individual basis and a wide range of prior experience may be taken into account. In some cases, applicants may be asked to submit a piece of work for assessment in order to confirm that they are able to work comfortably at postgraduate level, and demonstrate the requisite clinical and professional knowledge.
