About Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner at George Washington University
Acute care nurse practitioners attend to adolescents and adults in a variety of clinical settings, including urgent care centers, critical care units, and inpatient medical-surgical or specialty units.
Students are prepared to be eligible to sit for both of the nationally recognized certification examinations for adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner from American Nurses Credentialing Center and from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. Clinical placements are selected jointly by the student and the program director and carried out in Northern Virginia, Maryland, or Washington, DC. All students attend several on-campus experiences related to MSN coursework as well as clinical skills development and patient assessment.
