The School of Theology & Ministry's Master of Practical Theology degree at Indiana Wesleyan University is an advanced M.Div. equivalent degree designed to fully prepare students for ministry in the local church.

Students of the Master of Practical Theology degree at Indiana Wesleyan University will spend the first two semesters in master's classes on the Marion residential campus in the School of Theology & Ministry housed in the Noggle Christian Ministries building. During that time, they will be instructed and mentored by professors within the School of Theology & Ministry. The school will also work with each student to locate a teaching church that will provide a mutually beneficial environment for both the student and church.

Beginning in the summer of the first year of the master's degree, students will spend the remainder of their time as a resident pastor in a teaching church. Students will continue to interact with one another and their professors via online coursework and campus workshops. This process will allow students to share and process what they learn during their residential experience.

At IWU, the Christian Worship department seeks to prepare the next generation of worship leaders in the church to lead God's people in deeper and richer experiences of corporate worship by designing and leading worship services that are faithful to Scripture, historically conscious, relevant to God, Christ centered, context-specific, and engaging for worshipers of all ages.
