The 75-hour Master of Divinity at Indiana Wesleyan University is perhaps the most innovative degree of its kind, built around local church ministry in action. Unique to this curriculum is its interlocking and interrelated content. Bible, theology and church history are integrated throughout every praxis course.

Overview

Unique to the Wesley Seminary M.Div. curriculum is its interlocking and interrelated content. Bible, theology and church history are integrated throughout the program by being paired with praxis courses. Half of core praxis course work of the Master of Divinity at Indiana Wesleyan University deals directly with biblical, theological and historical outcomes. This interweaving of foundational principles provides the knowledge, skills and dispositions that pastors need and can immediately use in ministry.

General requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university, or an institution accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education.
  • A 2.5 minimum cumulative undergraduate grade-point average (GPA) from the baccalaureate degree-granting institution at which a minimum of 30 credit hours was completed.
  • An official transcript from the baccalaureate degree-granting institution at which a minimum of 30 credit hours was completed.
  • Two references, including one from a pastor or denominational supervisor.
  • A completed Ministry Context Form.
  • A three-to-four page autobiography and statement of ministry purpose. The ministry purpose statement should reflect one’s sense of God’s direction in relation to Christian ministry or service.
