The English Literature program of The University of Lahore comprises taught courses of 24 credit hours. Upon the completion of courses, only students obtaining a GPA of 2.75 or above may write a research dissertation (6 credit hours). Those not meeting the criterion of 2.75 GPA may improve by repeating the course(s) with the lowest score as per the rules of HEC.
Career Prospects
As per HEC’s regulations, MPhil is now a basic requirement for lecturership at universities in Pakistan. It is a gateway to research enabling students to pursue a PhD in their selected area of interest.
MPhil graduates are also taken up by research firms for assistance in research projects.
