Overview
The Virology and Molecular Pathology program of The University of Lahore equips you with specialised skills in molecular diagnostics, pathogen detection, epidemiological analysis, and laboratory-based research, preparing you to address complex challenges in virology and molecular pathology.
Throughout the programme, our students develop strong expertise in virology, immunopathology, molecular biology, and advanced laboratory methods. In the third and fourth semesters, students undertake an independent research thesis, enabling them to pursue doctoral-level studies, research-focused careers, and leadership roles within clinical laboratories, diagnostic industries, and biomedical research institutions.

- Graduates with an MPhil in Virology and Molecular Pathology can pursue careers in hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, public health departments, vaccine development centres, pharmaceutical industries, and research institutions.
- Common positions include molecular pathologist, virologist, diagnostic laboratory scientist, research associate, biosafety officer, and infectious disease researcher. This degree also provides a strong foundation for pursuing PhD studies in virology, molecular pathology, microbiology, or related biomedical sciences.

- MBBS / DVM or equivalent qualification
