Students at Civil Engineering from University Tunku Abdul Rahman will:
- design structures such as buildings, bridges, towers, etc., and mainly act as consultants for or contractors.
- identify and deal with all factors that may affect all of engineering works and play an important role in civil and infrastructural projects, such as the design of slope, dam, tunnel and underground space, land ground improvement, etc.

General requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree (Honours) or A Bachelor's Degree with CGPA of 2.50 and above in the field of technology from UTAR;
- A Bachelor's Degree (Honours) or a Bachelors Degree with CGPA of 2.00 and above but less than 2.50 in the field of technology from UTAR will be subjected to rigorous internal assessment; or
- A Bachelor's Degree (Honours) or a Bachelor's Degree with CGPA of 2.00 but less than 2.50 or showed evidence of at least five (5) years of relevant working experience in the field of technology from UTAR will be subjected to rigorous internal assessment; or
- Any other academic qualifications equivalent to (1), (2) or (3) from another recognised University as approved by the Senate.
