About Statistics at TU Berlin

It plays a crucial role in a number of application areas, such as opinion surveys, technological developments, or when handling complex datasets. It is a very practically oriented discipline and in a time of growing data streams, its importance is increasing in almost all areas of industry, science, and everyday life.

The students in our Statistics master’s program are trained to become professionals in handling statistics of all kinds. They work with the mathematic basic principles and methods of empirical research and learn how to compile statistics and critically evaluate statistical evidence. The curriculum’s topic areas include probability theory and mathematic statistics, special fields of statistics, stochastic processes and time series analysis.
