The Department of Sociology aimed at providing an academic platform to equip the students and scholars with sociological knowledge, critical thinking and social research methods through rigorous teaching and academic practices.
Besides, the Department aimed to provide a comprehensive orientation to the students on fundamental concepts, perspectives and theories of Sociology and also to encourage them to develop their vision for an interdisciplinary academic collaboration to find a well round solution to the complex social problems.
The Department of Sociology at Hazara University Mansehra is distinctive because of its diverse population of students hailing from various socio-cultural, regional and linguistic backgrounds thus making the research and teaching environment more colorful, attractive and productive.

General requirements
- 16 years of relevant education in the discipline for which the candidate seeks admission. CGPA (2.00/4.0 or 2.50/5.0) in semester system; or 2nd division in MA/MSc or equivalent in the relevant subject in annual system.
- Candidates having some other qualification will be required to produce equivalency and relevancy certificates from HEC, Islamabad.
- Must have obtained 60% marks in the UGAT or valid GAT-General/GRE with 50% marks.
