Overview
Course Details
At the Ocean Science MRes course offered by the University of Southampton, you’ll focus on an area that interests you, such as physical, chemical or biological oceanography.
On this UK research master’s course you’ll decide the subject areas you study and choose the nature of the research you undertake for your dissertation project.
As an MRes student, you will spend around two thirds of your year on your research project and the rest of your time studying taught modules.
You’ll conduct research alongside experienced academics in marine science, at our Waterfront Campus and attend our research seminars, delivered by leading scientists. Our purpose built campus gives you access to ships and ocean technology, and provides the opportunity for fieldwork and scientific cruises not traditionally found in university environments.
