About

The Master's programme Internet Science and Technology offered by the University of Twente (UT) is one of very few specialized programmes in the field of communication systems – and the only one of its kind in The Netherlands. With this degree you will join a very select group of specialists worldwide equipped to build, maintain, protect and improve the architecture of interactive systems. 

In addition to that, you will also have plenty of room for your personal interests and preferences. You can deepen your understanding of certain sub-areas, work on your own entrepreneurial skills or, for example, cross over into the social sciences or a social theme, such as energy, mobility or healthcare.

Among the most important technological breakthroughs in the near future will be those involving the connection of networks and systems. Throughout this Master's programme you will learn how to build, maintain, secure and improve these interactive intelligent systems in a creative, technically responsible way.

        You only need to take one of these language tests:

          The IELTS – or the International English Language Test System – tests your English-language abilities (writing, listening, speaking, and reading) on a scale of 1.00–9.00.           The CAE test – or the Cambridge Advanced English – is an exam for applicants who wish to get a Certificate in Advanced English. To receive the Advanced certificate, test-takers must score between 142 and 210 on the Cambridge English: Advanced test.

          Note: degree programmes and applications may require a more specific minimum score for admission.

        • Minimum required score:

          90

          The TOEFL – or Test Of English as a Foreign Language – offers an internet-based test (iBT). The final, overall iBT score ranges between 0 and 120, and includes a scaled average from the four components (reading, listening, speaking, and writing). Read more about TOEFL (iBT).

        Academic Requirements

        Requirements:
        • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualifications
        • Knowledge of the following topics: at least 40 ECTS credits in Computer Science (containing: object oriented programming, computer organisation/architecture, operating systems, computer networks)
        • At least 5 EC in Computer Networks
        • Copy of diploma
        • Transcript of records
        • CGPA of at least 70% of the maximum score, or your country's equivalent

        • English summary of thesis (BSc or MSc)
        • Letter of Motivation (max. 2 pages)
