Course Details
This Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care MSc course offered by the University of Southampton is ideal if you want to lead medical, health or social care teams at the highest levels. You’ll learn how to inspire the people and organisations you work with to get the best from them. It’s suitable for clinicians and non-clinicians from a range of backgrounds.
You'll learn modern approaches to leadership, with learning on self-leadership, leading teams, and leading organisations and systems. The Research Methods module prepares you for the dissertation and research projects in your workplace. We'll teach you how to use the latest research to take an evidence-based approach to improving care.
Our Health Work research group, led by Professor Peter Griffiths, has highlighted the impact of low nurse staffing and long working hours on patient safety. This work informs national conversations, health policy and practice world-wide.
