General requirements
- A four-year baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution (with at least a 2.75 grade point average)
- College transcripts
- Copy of teaching license (licensure-only applicants)
- Personal statement describing reasons for pursuing a career in special education and one's ability to complete online coursework
- Resume/CV
- Two (2) professional letters of recommendation addressing one's potential for advanced graduate study
- Applicants seeking their first teaching license must apply for the special education master's degree program. Coursework will include the courses necessary to earn an intervention specialist's license.
- Applicants who have teaching licenses in a field other than special education may choose to apply for the master's degree or the licensure-only option.
