Overview

From geotechnical to water, structural or materials engineering, study a master's that focuses on the future of civil engineering in industry and the world. Taught in the context of a future zero-carbon economy, you'll learn the theory and design aspects to help you navigate the new challenges up ahead successfully.

Throughout the Civil Engineering course at University of Bath , a mix of theory, practical and collaborative activities help you advance your professional, design and research skills. Part of this is working in multidisciplinary design teams to solve the big problems facing the world right now. You’ll also have the opportunity to carry out a large research project with support and supervision from our academic specialists.

  • You should have a Bachelor's honours degree or international equivalent, typically a 2:1 or above.
  • To apply for this programme you should have an undergraduate degree in an appropriate subject such as civil engineering, structural engineering, building engineering, architectural engineering, or another subject which includes relevant civil engineering components (e.g. general engineering or engineering geology).
  • We may make an offer based on a lower grade if you can provide evidence of your suitability for the degree.
  • If your first language is not English but within the last 2 years you completed your degree in the UK you may be exempt from our English language requirements.
