Biomedical Engineering from Ankara University offers students access to Biofluids Research Laboratory, Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering Research Laboratory, Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine Research Laboratory, Proteomics and Metabolomics Research Laboratory and Medical Imaging Research Laboratory. 


Biomedical Engineering from Ankara University will educate and train higher degree engineers that are qualified to be able to work in the Excellence Centers where the research and development activities aimed by the Supreme Council for Science and Technology (SCST) Resolutions are being implemented in Health Sector. Moreover, the program will support the education of qualified academic personnel required in the Biomedical Engineering field.   

Students at Biomedical Engineering from Ankara University will:

  • Develop and deepen knowledge in the field of biomedical engineering through scientific research and evaluate, interpret and apply the knowledge. 
  • Gain comprehensive information about the modern techniques, methods and their limitations in this field. 
  • Design and apply the analytical- modeling- and experiment- based research in biomedical engineering. 
  • Leads multidisciplinary teams in the fields of medical, engineering and basic sciences; develop solution methodologies to complex situations; take responsibility. 
  • Develop new and novel ideas and ethods in the field of biomedical engineering; develop novel solutions in system, piece or process design. 
  • Communicate in English in written and verbal form at least in the B2 general level of European Language Portfolio. 
  • Use knowledge in the interdisciplinary studies involving fields such as medical, engineering and basic sciences.

General requirements

  • Candidates applying for the Master's Programs must have an undergraduate diploma, with at least 2.00 out of 4.00 CGPA undergraduate degree. 
  • Candidates, who intend to apply to Master’s Programs, must have a minimum score of 55 from ALES (National Graduate Education Science Exam) from relevant field or equivalent international exam scores.
  • The candidates, who intend to apply to Master’s Programs, must have a minimum 50 score of YDS (National English Proficiency Exams) or equivalent scores from international examinations (e.g. TOEFL)
  • Candidates are evaluated over 100 points in the admission interview. In admission interview, candidates are evaluated with recommendation letter and oral assessment.
  • In admitting students to graduate programs; 50% of ALES score, , 20% of undergraduate CGPA and 30% of admission interview result are taken into consideration and candidate with minimum 65 points are listed by institute administrative board.
