Overview

Through studying this Global Cultures course from King's College London , you’ll develop the skills to reflect, articulate and communicate effectively across markers of cultural difference. You'll become better global citizens as well as enhancing your workplace skills and leadership capabilities.

A combination of theory, practice and research will equip you with a deep knowledge of contemporary challenges, such as race, gender, language and migration. You’ll be able to put theory into practice as you utilise new skills for real-world contexts, including inclusion and communication.

Your career

King’s is ranked fourth in the UK and 21st in the world for graduate employability (Times Higher Education's Global Employability University Ranking 2020).

Current workforce reports have pointed to a soft skills gap in today’s workforce. They suggest that the relevant skills of the future will require a human element and, therefore, cannot be learnt by machines. These skills include critical thinking, empathy, creativity and leadership, which you can develop during this course.

Through understanding aspects of global cultures, you’ll develop highly transferable skills, which will benefit any career option within any sector. It’s particularly beneficial if:

  • You wish to go onto further research in global cultures.

  • You're in a leadership or HR position and want to understand the needs of your colleagues.

  • You work or want to work for a global business or organisation.
