Overview

Earn a MRI Technologist Graduate Certificate

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging program of Fanshawe College prepares graduates to be clinically competent, communicate effectively, think critically and apply problem solving skills in the clinical environment as well as dual certification.

This face to face/online hybrid program provides the opportunity for technologists to develop discipline specific knowledge that is coupled with a clinical practicum. Classes/labs are one day per week, allowing students to maintain employment while growing professionally. Two-16 week levels consist of courses that provide a thorough foundation in MR safety, physics, patient care, procedures, pathology and cross sectional anatomy. You will learn from MRI practitioners, Radiologists and Physicists. By participating in labs (patient care simulation and scanning on a 3T magnet) your knowledge transfers while gaining hands-on experience.

The next level is a 16 week clinical rotation (600 hours). You’re placed in an inpatient/outpatient facility allowing you to develop the valuable skills necessary for an entry level practitioner. The last component is the Consolidation and Review course that prepares you for the national exam. We are fully accredited by Accreditation Canada
