Through Practice Postgrad.Cert from Fanshawe College you'll prepare for an exciting career in television news.
The television news business is constantly changing, requiring a diverse skill set. Our industry-trained and experienced faculty will teach you how to write effective news stories and shine in front of a camera, as well as how to operate cameras, edit footage, write captivating news copy and conduct compelling interviews. You’ll also gain comprehensive knowledge of television production, directing and research, graduating as a versatile videographer, capable of adapting to any situation and work environment.
Students in the Broadcast Journalism - Television News program of Fanshawe College have extensive access to Canada’s premiere broadcasting centre, an industry-leading live news studio and green screen facility. An ongoing newsroom placement as well as a two-month internship will give you the opportunity to make important industry connections.
For students interested in studying further, Brock University and Fanshawe College have developed an articulation agreement, which gives you the opportunity to obtain a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies, as well as a graduate certificate in Broadcast Journalism - Television News. Students may start at either institution and receive credit transfer, graduating with both a degree and graduate certificate in only four years.

- A College Diploma in Journalism - Broadcast OR Broadcasting - Television
- An equivalent qualification from another institution as judged by the College
- Professional background and experience judged by the College to be equivalent to the above
- Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate proficiency in English
