About the Program

The Architecture and Urban Design program at National Taipei University of Technology is providing students with specific specialties to develop their personal interests and areas of expertise, and to deepen the theory and practice of architecture, urbanism, and engineering. In recent years, research focuses on sustainable and healthy environment, building life cycle and reuse, architecture and urban regeneration, urban disaster prevention, and digital technology as the main core issues, which have gradually been integrated and developed into the most important features of the department. In addition to research methods, the required courses also include special topics in architectural design for each group, such as eco-campus and community-friendly themes for Group A, sustainable urban design for Group B, and engineering technology design for Group C.

In particular, the curriculum is planned through the integration of resources from various research laboratories to build a learning environment with shared resources, enhance communication among students, and achieve practical links and cross-disciplinary integration, so that students can have the technical ability to solve the changes in workplace practices and realize the real meaning of higher technical education. In addition, in response to the international development, foreign students from Czech Republic, Poland, France, Hungary, and Germany have been coming to the department for exchange in recent years. Through the joint participation of domestic and international design projects and international work camps, not only can the design and communication skills of local students be improved, but also the learning pattern and international vision can be expanded.
