
Overview
This two-year dual award programme gives students the opportunity to attain their first Masters award, MSc Finance in the UK in their first year with their second year in Hong Kong at our partner University, Hong Kong Baptist University where they can attain their second Masters award, MSc Mathematical Finance.
The course gives you the benefit of studying quantitative and non-quantitative modules that are relevant to core areas of industry including Investments, Risk Management, Derivatives and Hedge-Funds. You will be introduced to the latest academic techniques that can identify profitable opportunities in competitive financial markets.

Bloomberg Lab
This course offers extensive access to real market data via our Bloomberg Lab, a virtual trading platform that is bursting at the seams with real-world data and case studies to apply your newfound expertise.
Quants workshop
Kent Business School offers an optional one and half week refresher workshop in Mathematics, Statistics and Excel, prior to the start of this programme.
Industrial Placement
This course is available with the option to undertake an industrial placement ranging from 3 – 12 months depending upon your visa requirements (if applicable), allowing you to gain work experience in the UK or overseas. This option is also available for students wishing to undertake a self-employed placement, or ‘SELFIE’ as it is also known.
While the placements are self-sought, The School offers support to those students seeking an industrial placement, through extra-curricular engagement with our dedicated placements team.
Students considering this option should be aware that they will be required to complete all stage 1 and 2 modules and that there may be additional costs in terms of accommodation, for example.
