This Surgery course at the University of Malta is mainly targeted at MD graduates, the majority of whom nowadays intend to specialise further and pursue a career in General Surgery or in one of the surgical specialties (such as Otolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Urology, Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Gastro-Intestinal, Colorectal and Plastic Surgery) as well as candidates intending to specialise in Anaesthesia and Orthopaedic Surgery.
