Overview
Organic Farming from Scotland's Rural College (SRUC) is the only specialised MSc in Organic Farming in Scotland. Combining academic learning and work experience, this MSc course will teach you about key aspects of the technical production, marketing, and management of organic farming and food.A well as honing your research skills, you'll build on your existing knowledge and experience to enhance your career opportunities as a practitioner, promoter, and facilitator within the sector.
During the programme, you'll learn to critically appraise organic farming as an agricultural system and in a wider context, and understand more about the organic sector as a whole.

The course aims to provide you with a good understanding of the organic sector and a sound knowledge of the science underpinning organic farming.
It will also teach you how to critically appraise organic farming as an agricultural system, and develop your understanding of the marketing, business and quality assurance requirements for organic produce.
The course modules offer of a mix of technical production, marketing and management, and skill development modules, underpinned by work experience and a study tour that demonstrates real-life practical examples.

- A degree relevant to the sector and/or assessment of candidate’s ability to benefit from the course. No absolute academic prerequisites - work experience is considered.
- Evidence of competency in English.
- RUC uses UK ENIC (formally UK NARIC) to assess overseas qualifications.
- Ideally, applicants should arrange for their own letter of comparability through Ecctis’s Statement of Comparability service.
- Those speaking English as a second language should sit an IELTS, TEOFL or Cambridge examination prior to application in order to meet the English Language entry requirements of SRUC's courses.
