About

New business models, changing process landscapes and trends such as digitalisation are making commercial management increasingly complex for companies worldwide. IU’s online Master in Finance, Accounting and Taxation prepares you for future management positions in the finance sector with expertise in the areas of financing, accounting and taxation, as well as leadership and management.

Overview

The goal is to deepen knowledge and skills in finance, accounting, and taxation of a company. One focus of the course is on deepening your understanding of scientific and economic basics as well as on imparting specialist knowledge and methodological skills in the areas of financing, national and international accounting, and taxation.

This knowledge will be combined with the essential basics and instruments of leadership and management. Seminars and projects with a focus on modern challenges facing these subjects will enable you to transfer the knowledge you have learned into practice.

CAREER:

After completing your Finance, Accounting and Taxation distance learning programme from IU International University of Applied Sciences, you will be able to take on a wide range of specialist and management positions in the finance department of companies of all types and sizes. You can use your expertise to work as one of the following, among others.

Chief Financial Officer:

As Chief Financial Officer (CFO) you are one of the members of the top management of a company and responsible for the entire financial area. Your tasks include managing funds, signing cheques, keeping the books, and planning the organisation's finances and liquidity. You develop strategies to optimise processes in your department and ensure that management always has an overview of the company’s financial situation.

Accounting Manager:

As an accounting manager, you and your team are responsible for the day-to-day accounting and the timely preparation of financial reports for a company. You plan and monitor commercial processes, prepare financial data, and use it to create key figure analyses for corporate management as well as reports and statistics. You take on management tasks and act as a contact person for banks, auditors, and tax consultants.

Head of Treasury:

As Head of Treasury, you and your team keep an eye on your company's finances. You ensure that there are always sufficient funds available to keep the organisation running. At the same time, as a treasurer you look ahead and underpin your company's finances with long-term financing strategies and future-oriented liquidity management. When companies grow and expand internationally, their finances have to grow with them - you keep an eye on all that.
