Overview

Demographic and changes as well as medical progress mean that the healthcare sector is one of the most dynamic and fastest growing global industries. Management positions in this sector require a sound knowledge of healthcare markets, economic characteristics of health as a commodity as well as global healthcare structures. IU’s online Master’s in Healthcare Management offers solid foundations for a career in healthcare at an affordable price. Not only will you gain relevant business knowledge, but elective modules will enable you to gain specialist understanding of issues central to the international healthcare industry.

CAREER:

Healthcare professionals who take responsibility, drive innovation in medical care and influence health policy issues are in demand - and the trend is rising. The healthcare market in most countries is growing faster than their GDP. With your Master's degree in International Healthcare Management, excellent career prospects await you in the fields of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology or medical technology. You could advance to management level in international companies and shape the healthcare system of the future. Here are a few examples.

Healthcare Management Consultant:

As a Healthcare Management Consultant, you work in an advisory capacity or manage your own projects. You organise market studies that serve as the basis for marketing new products and technologies or steer research in lucrative directions. Your knowledge of regulatory framework conditions and intelligent pricing helps you to develop optimised market strategies.

Product Manager:

In this position, you take responsibility for products or services in a selected region. In doing so, you keep a close eye on the framework conditions and requirements of the respective countries. With your commitment, everything runs smoothly from product launch to market introduction - not least because you have expertise in product lifecycle management after your healthcare management studies at the IU International University.

International Regulatory Manager:

After completing your distance learning programme in Healthcare Management, you will be well acquainted with country-specific conditions and problems in the various healthcare markets. This is what makes you so successful in your position as an International Regulatory Manager in the pharmaceutical industry. You develop country-specific strategies and ensure compliance with all legal requirements.
