Overview
Explore the most advanced tools in finance and use your economics background as a springboard to increase your career options. Benefit from the combined approach of Warwick Business School and the Department of Economics, two of the University of Warwick ’s top departments.
This Finance and Economics course at the University of Warwick is ideal for you if you already have a strong grounding in economics, are highly numerate, and want to learn to apply your knowledge to finance. You will be considering jobs in the City or in the capital markets of your own country, in areas such as asset management, corporate finance, trading, financial regulation, and economic and financial consulting and central banking.
As the anticipation of jobs being challenged by Artificial Intelligence becomes a reality, we aim to share the skills and depth of understanding needed to design, develop, and supervise these new forms of financial intelligence.
In line with the CFA curriculum we have launched a new module on Ethics, Financial Regulation and Corporate Governance, offering you the opportunity to study with a European business school partner.

Other requirements
General requirements
The finance programmes are challenging technical courses. To succeed on these courses you will need strong mathematics and statistics or econometrics ability, this could be demonstrated by a high 2.1 or first achieved in a relevant subject at Undergraduate level.
You must have, or be expecting to obtain, at least a high 2.1 degree at Undergraduate level from a UK university, or overseas equivalent from a top-performing University
You are unlikely to be considered if your degree is in business, commerce, or other similar areas as it is unlikely that you will have had sufficient formal training.
Your degree would normally need to be in economics, or have had a substantial economics component, and you must have taken courses in microeconomic and macroeconomic theory at an intermediate level. Competencies are also required in calculus, statistics and econometrics.
Make sure you meet all requirements
