The Department of French Language and Literature at Korea University is a field of language and literature that can present a creative vision for current and future cultural and ideological phenomena by in-depth research on French language and literature based on the critical spirit that forms the basis of Western humanities.


About the Program

The purpose of this program in French Language and Literature at Korea University is to nurture talents who will contribute to the international exchange of culture and the development of Korean culture, working as experts, literary critics, professional translators, and practitioners in the cultural industry. To this end, we offer courses covering major trends and genres of French literature from the Middle Ages to the present, and major fields and theories of French language. With 'translation' as a department-specific keyword, which focuses on the diversity of humanities research, an interdisciplinary curriculum is established and operated to pursue communication between disciplines and society.
