Overview
As a matter of fact, our goal is for you to leave this Biomedical and Health Sciences program with the well-rounded, comprehensive education you need for entry into a variety of professional programs. This program was developed through a partnership with the UAB School of Health Professions and the Department of Cell, Developmental and Integrative Biology in the School of Medicine.
You’ll actually find that the coursework was modeled after the first two years of the UAB School of Medicine curriculum. You’ll take classes covering biochemistry, genetics, histology, microbiology, immunology, and integrated systems (gastrointestinal systems, musculoskeletal, and skin.) You’ll also participate in research, a seminar in interpersonal skills and teamwork, and a capstone experience that combines your coursework with small-group applications.
