Overview

The Master programme New Performative Practices is a road to deepened and expanded knowledge. Physical, live-performance practices are studied for the development of new relationships to audience, new perceptions of the performer's role in society and a critical, ethically viable relationship to the continuous unfolding of live performance. The individual artist's development of a personally sustainable practice is placed in dynamic relation to society's demands, understanding and respect for artistic practice.

Programme Structure

The base of the programme is your artistic practice and all courses are related to and studied through that. There may be a certain degree of influence on how the courses are carried out according to the student’s individual plan for presenting her/his artistic practice. The artist's individual practice is the basis for two years of in-depth studies with compulsory courses and optional courses. At the programme you discuss your own practice in relation to others' and formulate you own artistic method for its presentation. In addition, the individual practice is put into relation with theory, construction of contemporary aesthetics, and philosophy.
