Overview

Courses are taught by experienced faculty using a hands-on, reality-based approach to education in which students apply what they learn in class to solve real-life problems. The curriculum is a balance of technology and management, and entails multiple aspects of cybersecurity, including cybersecurity management, information technology security threat assessment, vulnerability, and penetration testing, incident response, evidence gathering, electronic discovery, and policies and procedures to reduce cyber threats.

General requirements

Students interested in this program must be admitted to Illinois Tech. Previous coursework or experience in technology is helpful but not required.

  • Illinois Tech requires a four-year bachelor’s degree conferred with a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0/4.0 (or its equivalent) from an accredited institution for regular admission.

  • Academic requirements: GPA of at least 3.0.
  • GMAT or GRE is required: GRE/GMAT is required, apart from Master of Public Administration. 
  • Personal Statement required
  • Letter of Recommendation is suggested, but not required
  • ACT Composite: 27+ (Must have 27+ in Math)
  • SAT Composite: 1240+ (Must have 630+ in Math)
