Overview

Students will gain an understanding of local and international SEND provision, strategy and policy. Additionally, the wider socio-cultural influences on SEND provision, including the influence of cultural and historical context will be explored. Students will be able to evaluate the resources and supports required for children with special education needs and disabilities and plan inclusive education in the classroom.  Also, students will be able to design, communicate, implement, and manage inclusive provisions for an educational institution. As part of this programme, the student will critically analyze  research and evidence in SEND practice, policy, and implementation, and be able to present and explain policy and best practice in inclusive education in local and international contexts. Finally, students will be encouraged to develop leadership and management skills related to SEND coordination, delivery, partnership and management.  .
