Programme Delivery

  • The primary medium of delivery will be via live online sessions. Faculty will connect with students over a video call at pre-scheduled times (usually over the weekend) to deliver a lecture.
  • Every subject will have hands-on project work along with a mix of assignments and quizzes.
  • Apart from this, students will also have to appear for a total of 3 online proctored exams (a fee of $35 will be applicable for every proctored exam)
  • While all sessions will be online, students will be required to travel for two residency sessions:
    • The residency sessions will be held in Gurgaon and Chennai (India).
    • The first residency would be for the subject Practical Machine Learning.
    • The second residency would be for the capstone project.
    • The duration of each residency session will be around 2-3 days.
    • Apart from course work and classes, residency sessions would also allow students to interact with faculty as well as network with fellow students.

Students should have completed a 4 year U.S. bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

English Proficiency

If the medium of instruction for the student’s bachelor's degree was English (as certified in the transcript evaluation report) then the student does not require any English proficiency test score. If your transcript is being evaluated by a NACES member agency, please ask them to clearly indicate this in their report. If the medium of instruction was not English then the student would need to give an English language proficiency tests like IELTS or TOEFL.

Please find below the process of submitting the application for the program:

1. Create an account and fill up the online application form using the link on the programme's website. 

2. Prepare and submit a statement of purpose (SOP). It can be uploaded online via the application form and should be between 300 - 550 words in length.

3. Give the name and email ids of two references. The admissions team will directly reach out to the identified individuals in order to get the letter of recommendation.

4. Submit an updated copy of your resume. This can be uploaded online via the application form.

5. Provide official transcripts of your undergraduate degree program. For students who have completed their education outside the U.S. the transcript will need to be evaluated by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).  Based on prior experience, Northwestern University recommends ECE and Educational Perspectives for transcript evaluation.

6. A non-refundable application fee of $75 will have to be paid while submitting the application form.

The tuition for this degree is $13,000 USD. This can be paid in 6 equal instalments of $2,167 each (payable at the start of every term). Please note that apart from the tuition, students will also need to budget for the following expenses:

  • A fee of $35 each for online proctored examinations (3 in total)
  • The cost of travelling, boarding/lodging and other expenses for the residency sessions will have to be borne by the students.
