Course structure
The master's is the second degree after the bachelor's degree. The master’s program comprises a total of 120 credit points (CP) and comprises two subjects as well as a free elective area.
Career opportunities
The career opportunities - outside of the teaching post in Matura schools - depend heavily on which second subject from the Phil.-Hist. Faculty was chosen.
Programme Structure
Courses include:
- The non-faculty subject chemistry (35 CP) is the minor, with a second major, the Phil.-Hist. Faculty and the free elective area (20 CP) or sport science to 78 CP (including 30 CP Master's thesis) and an elective area (7 CP). One ECTS credit point corresponds to approximately 30 hours of work.
- The extra-faculty subject chemistry is offered at Bachelor's and Master’s level in combination with a second subject from the Phil.-Hist. Faculty and a free elective or as a second subject in sports science.

- Admission to the master’s program requires a bachelor’s degree with 180 credit points from a university recognized by the University of Basel.
- Admission to the master’s degree is granted upon application by the responsible examination committee. This recommends that the rectorate be admitted or rejected.
