The Petroleum Refining Engineering Technology Research Center built by the Department jointly with Changqing Petrochemical Company has relatively well-established conditions for the development of industrial catalytic processes, such as preparation, characterization, and evaluation of catalysts.

The Department has formed stable characteristic research directions in the design, optimization, and control of micro-chemical reactor

Process development and technical transformation of oil-refining and chemical engineering plants

Process simulation optimization & energy conservation and consumption reduction

Development and application of new catalytic materials

Green chemical industry and waste recycling.
