Overview
This LLM International Natural Resources Law and Policy (distance learning) from University of Dundee is a broad-based course, concerned with the fundamentals of all natural resources and energy. Governments are constantly making decisions about the interaction of resources and energy, such as how much oil, coal, or gas to use. You will study the individual sectors and examine the options that governments face.
You will also study:
- the nature of petroleum and mining rights
- regulatory and contractual structures surrounding projects
- how governments gain revenue from resources through taxation and ownership
- environmental and sustainability issues in natural resources
- dispute avoidance and resolution
You will have the option to study energy and resource economics, energy financing, or dispute settlement modules, depending on your own interests.
You do not need to be a lawyer to take this course.
