Overview
Since 2000, SFL has recruited graduate students and has trained more than 40 graduate students, and is the only master’s degree program in German language and literature in Sichuan province.
The German Language and Literature programme is offered by Southwest Jiaotong University.
Based on the school-level research institute (Forschungszentrum f ü r Klassische Deutschsprachige Literatur), two projects funded by Nationale Social Sciences (including a major project—A Study on Goethe and the Chinese Translation of His Works) and three projects funded by the Ministry of Education, this program has great academic influence in ChineseTranslation of GermanPoetry, German Translations of Chinese classics and GoetheResearch.
Programme Structure
Courses Overview- In 2011, SFL began to recruit candidates for master of Translation Studies (MTI), and candidates for master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages in 2015. Since 2012, SFL and the School of Arts and Communication (now the College of Humanities) of Southwest Jiaotong University have jointly recruited doctoral students in Medio-translatology for Chinese Language and Literature, and since 2016, SFL have independently recruited doctoral students in the second-level discipline of Translation and Media Studies.
