Become a practising lawyer with this full-time course. Anglia Ruskin University's Advanced Legal Practice will give you the knowledge you need to excel, along with the confidence, drive, and lively, enquiring mind that employers look for and that today's legal world demands.

Key facts

With us, you’ll learn to excel. The new LLM incorporates the existing PG Dip Legal Practice Course (LPC) followed by a research project. Our course content is relevant, practice-led, and ranges from civil litigation and dispute resolution to business, property and family law. It’s all taught flexibly, by knowledgeable and engaged lecturers who’ve worked in the private sector.

We don’t just talk about employability – we actively go out and make it happen. We’re nestled in the heart of Cambridge and just 45 minutes away from London, where we have a good and ever-growing network across the city’s chambers. Our links with employers are strong, and we’re proactive about using them to source and nurture opportunities. So whether your ambitions are local or international, you’ll be very well connected. And through our law clinic, solicitors’ forum and mock courtroom, you’ll be able to put everything you’ve learnt into practice in real-world settings. It adds up to a superb, and consistently highly rated, learning experience

Anglia Ruskin University's Advanced Legal Practice will prepare you for life as a practising solicitor in England or Wales, and allow you to continue on to the two-year training contract that will fully qualify you for professional practice*.

You will most likely choose to complete your two-year training contract with a firm of solicitors in private practice, but might prefer to take one with an alternative employer, such as the UK government (through the Government Legal Service), local government, the Crown Prosecution Service or a law centre. Whatever you decide, you can be sure of receiving specialised guidance for your career in law.
